Once You Go Black (anti-ship dice) You Never Go Back

One strange effect is PDIC makes certain squads relatively more powerful than other squads.

For example, V19s and Trifighters throw a black dice, and black dice are the least affected by PDIC. Their dmg output goes from .75 to .5625. Compare that to the Xwing. The red die bomber goes from .75 to .46875. Point being, you can load up on V19s or Trifighters, get amazing value out of them with RHD, and then still roll better than a mess of Xwings.

Or take TIE Interceptors. They cost the same as the Trifighter, but Trifighters get the black dice. Without PDICs, Trifighters output .75 vs the Interceptors’ .50. So about 50% better. But vs PDICs, Trifighters output .5625 vs the Interceptors’ .25. That’s over 100% better. Vs PDIC, a single Trifighter will have the dmg output of TWO Interceptors.

Then there’s the 16pt TIE Defender. As a blue bomber, it actually has the same dmg output (vs PDIC or otherwise) as a black non-bomber.

On top of all that, V19s and Trifighters have Swarm so they work with RHD. So basically, you have cheap, effective, recursive fighters that are dangerous vs ships and robust vs PDIC. It’s hard for me to make a CW list where I dont take 4 of them. Vs a fighter build, you have a nice speed bump. And vs a squadless fleet, you just park them in front of their capital ship.
